Daiquiri

Ingredients 

  • 2 ounces light rum
  • 1 ounce lime juice, freshly squeezed 
  • 3/4 ounce demerara sugar syrup
  • Garnish: lime twist

Steps

Add the rum, lime juice and demerara sugar syrup to a shaker with ice, and shake until well-chilled.

Double strain through fine mesh strainer into a chilled coupe.
Garnish with a lime twist. 

Kansas City Ice Water

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 ounces vodka, like J. Rieger’s Premium Wheat Vodka   
  • 3/4 ounce riesling, preferably the kabinett style   
  • 1/2 ounce chamomile syrup (recipe follows)   
  • 3/4 ounce lime juice, freshly squeezed   
  • 2 ounces sparkling mineral water, like
  • Topo Chico or Jarritos Mineragua   
  • Garnish: lime wheel

Steps   

Combine all ingredients except sparkling mineral water in a cocktail shaker filled with ice.   

Shake for 15–20 seconds, until well chilled.   

Pour sparkling mineral water in a highball glass, and strain the mixture from the shaker over it. Add fresh ice.   

Garnish with a lime wheel.
